Fraukje Engels (1984) is a visual and audiovisual artist.
Driven by drawing – specifically with charcoal -, sculpting and music, Fraukje completes a musical training (9 years), a bachelor’s/master’s program in visual arts (5 years) and a postgraduate degree in audiovisual arts (2 years).

After 4 years of artistic guidance by Ingrid Ledent, Fred Bervoets, Edwin Carels and Anouk De Clercq she continues to dedicate her attention to the artistic development of audiovisual work.

With the work TRAJECT, giving the viewer the illusion of freedom within her artistic universe, she won the Horlait-Dapsens Award.

By focusing on the study of audio and visual artistic creation,
by exhibiting and performing for a crowd,
by discussing with artists and co-workers in the artistic field
Fraukje is supported by a broad discourse from which she distills her own works.

Her works and projects have been shown in, among others; Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, New Mexico and China. Several works reside in museum and private collections. For example, 15 works were purchased by Guanlan Biennial, China.
